Antibes
A town full of character and charm …
Antibes attracts visitors from around the world. A protected destination on the Riviera, Antibes is blessed with an excellent location between the sea and the mountains. This charming city draws visitors with its wide range of activities.
Don’t miss…
- The old port – Port Vauban – and Billionaires’ Quay, where the most luxurious boats in the world drop anchor. At certain times, it can be reached from the battlements and the Bastion St Jaume, site of the overhanging Jaume Plensa “Nomad”.
- Fort-Carré, which evokes some of the most significant episodes in the history of Antibes.
- La Courtine, located on Boulevard d’Aguillon, one of the liveliest avenues in Antibes and home of the“Bains-Douches” exhibition area, set up in the ancient bunkers.
- The battlements and their rampart walks. This is the oldest part of Antibes, with a storied 3000-year history: Place du Révély, Saint-Esprit Chapel, the house where Jacques Audiberti (French writer and poet) was born, the Cathedral, the Saracen towers, and the ancient Château Grimaldi, now the Picasso Museum.
- The Bastion Saint-André is found here, and down below is the free commune of Safranier, a small ensemble of narrow alleys where the sun plays hide and seek with the foliage.
